FISHER – James M. “Jim,” 77, Summerhill, formerly of Portage; died unexpectedly January 6, 2024, at home. Born May 11, 1946, in Johnstown, son of William A. Sr. and Audrey (Crate) Fisher. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Deborah A. Kubacka; and brother, John F. “Jack” Fisher.
Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Janet (Mauger) Fisher; son, Jimmy Jr. (Tricia Hildebrand); daughters, Colleen (Dan Wolfhope); and Connie (Chris Zupon); grandsons, Forrest Wolfhope, Jacob Fisher, and Christopher Zupon; brothers, William Fisher Jr. and Joseph Fisher (Joann Comiskey); brother-in-law, Joseph Kubacka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was the former site supervisor of Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark and retired from Mount Aloysius College. His work ethic was evident through the meticulously kept grounds and facilities under his care. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, was a huge Notre Dame fan, and loved attending his grandsons’ sporting events and school activities.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 751 Locust Street, St. Michael; Father Robert Reese, celebrant. Committal service will be private.
