SWARTZENTRUVER – Jay C., "Butch," 78, Ebensburg, formerly of South Fork, died July 19, 2019, at home. Born August 21, 1940, in South Fork, son of Chester and Rosella (Davis) Swartzentruver.
Preceded in death by parents; brothers, James “Jerry,” Juan "Stevie," Joseph “Jody,” John “Ace,” and Joel “Bucky,’ sisters, Judy Swartzentruver, Belva “Joan” Monroe, June Turchak, Jane Webb, and Sarah Neff, son-in-law, Ralph Layton, and former wife, Fern (Yerich) Swartzentruver,
Survived by wife, Yvonne (Slobinsky) Swartzentruver, Ebensburg; children, Elizabeth Layton, Ebensburg; Jesse Swartzentruver and wife Lorraine, Mays Landing, New Jersey; Jenny Dallas; Jay Swartzentruver and wife Sharon; and Dale Swartzentruver, all of Windber; grandchildren, Joshua , Keri, Jade, JJ, and Ashley; 8 great-grandchildren; dear sister, Juanita "Becky" Noon, Richland; beloved pets, Korky and Maggie; and numerous other cherished family and friends.
Jay retired from the Ebensburg State School after 32 years of service as an aide. He enjoyed bus trips to the casino, was skilled at wood carving, and had a passion for classic cars.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
