ALLISON – James C., 84, Sidman, went to be with the Lord March 19, 2016, at UPMC Shadyside surrounded by loving family. Born May 14, 1931, In Sidman, son of Leslie R. and Gladys (Corl) Allison. Preceded in death by parents; infant sister; brother, Paul; and sisters, Vieva Beard and Erma Wissinger, who joined him in Heaven just eight hours later. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Shirley (Lehman) Allison, whom he married Oct. 5, 1957, at Sidman United Methodist Church; sons, Jim, Alexandria, Va., and Jason, Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends. Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551. He was a graduate of Adams Township High School, Class of 1949, and a retired machine shop foreman from FMC Technologies, Inc., Homer City. He was an active member of Sidman United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. When he had the occasion to go, he also enjoyed fellowship at Salix United Methodist Church. He was a talented woodworker and had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious smile. He will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, the Rev. Jon C.
