BREYER – Jacob R., 41, New Germany, died July 22, 2024, at home. Born June 26, 1983, in Covington, Louisiana. Preceded in death by grandparents, John and Hilda (Motchenbaugh) Meier and Davis J. Breyer Sr. and Jane (Malloy) Breyer-Giazzon.
Survived by parents, Davis “Jake” and Sandy (Meier) Breyer; sisters, Ashley (Shawn Stiffler); Sarah (Andy Roberts); and Kristie (Jared Kingsley); nieces, Josie, Addie, and Lilly; nephew, Jack; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and Maizie, his beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Jacob was a graduate of Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Whether he was kayaking or casting a fishing line, he found a connection to nature on the water. He had an incredible imagination and an appreciation for sci-fi and anime movies. At Christmastime, the kitchen would be filled with the aromas of cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate, as he worked side by side with his mom baking cookies…a memory that will forever warm our hearts. He had the sweetest heart and despite the medical challenges he faced, he never allowed his condition to define him. Instead, he chose to live a life of purpose and compassion.
