Herbert H. Bishop

BISHOP – Herbert H., 84, South Fork, died September 4, 2021, at James E. Van Zandt Medical Center. Born November 14, 1936, in Hancock, Maryland; son of Phillip E. and Iva M. (Weller) Bishop.

Preceded in death by parents, wife, Shirley A (Bouch) Bishop, who died June 5, 1997, and an infant daughter; sisters, Mildred Burdette, Doris Keefer; and brother, Paul Bishop.

Survived by brothers, Lloyd (Shirley) and Jeff, both of Hancock, Maryland; sister, Vivian Wandless, Wolfordsburg; numerous nieces and nephews; including niece, Carol (Ralph) Cecere, with whom he resided; also the Cecere children, Courtney, Adam, and Madeline; and golden retriever and best pal, Cam.

Herb was an active member of South Fork First United Methodist Church and their men’s Bible class. US Army veteran having served from 1959 – 1962 and a retired surveyor inspector for Baker Engineering in Beaver, Pennsylvania. He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his many years playing softball for Chuck’s Tavern and basketball for Basile’s.

Friends will be received at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2021, at South Fork First United Methodist Church, the Reverend Randolph Landman presiding.

Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
