Harry A. Probert

PROBERT – Harry A., 79, Johnstown, formerly of Salix, passed away January 17, 2017, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born November 12, 1937, in Johnstown, son of the late Clarence “Rusty” and Druey L. (Crawford) Probert. Preceded in death by parents, an infant sister, step-mother, Ruth Probert and step-sister, Betty (Watkins) Sedei.

Survived by wife of 58 years, Judith (Johnson) Probert, Arbutus Park Retirement Village; children, Felicia Probert, Santé Fe, NM; Brenda, married to Keith Barclay, Sidman; and Brett, married to Carla Mackel, Clinton, PA; grandchildren, Ben and Sara Barclay; brother, William, married to Linda Riggle, Renovo, PA; step-sister, Nancy Liperote, Baldwinsville, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Bonnie Johnson, Curt and Michele Johnson, Gail and Michael Kynett; and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was a Naval Reserve Veteran, having served from 1955 to 1961. He retired from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown after 32 years as the Manager of Physical Plant. He was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Salix.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Salix Bethel United Methodist Church, with Brett Probert officiating. Interment, Bald Eagle Cemetery, Tyrone.
