HEINLEIN – Grace Vera, 83, New Germany, died June 13, 2020, at home surrounded by family.
Born July 9, 1936, in New Germany, daughter of Albert J. and Clara H. (Weinzierl) Long.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, John F. “Jack” Heinlein, who died October 7, 2019; and brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Raymond, and Clair.
Survived by children, Frederick, married to Julie (Billetdeaux), Ebensburg; Albert, and fiancée Jean Galla, Summerhill; Mary, wife of Kenneth Plummer, Sidman; Doris, wife of Howard Kirsch, Spotsylvania, Virginia; Eileen, wife of David Deskevich, Vinco; and Michael, married to Megan (Bloom), Glengary, West Virginia; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Leona Schissler, Westminster, Maryland; Rosemary, wife of Alfred Gill, Hagerstown, Maryland; Camillus, married to Betty (Demko), South Fork; Lois, wife of Robert Whiteford, Portage; Richard, married to Mary (Brawley), New Germany; Barbara, wife of Patrick Dumm, New Germany; Vera Noll, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; and Joyce, wife of Thomas Gregorich, Mineral Point; and sister-in-law, Diana (Davis) Long, Lima, Ohio.
Grace was a devout Catholic and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and their Altar Rosary Society. Member of Knights of Columbus Prince Gallitzin Council 2275 Ladies Court. Graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1954. She was known for her wonderful home-canned goods, her delicious cooking, and the beautiful quilts she made. Most of all she loved spending time with family and even became somewhat “tech-savvy,” facetiming every Saturday with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday June 15, 2020, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
The Altar Rosary Society and K of C Ladies Court will pray the Rosary at 1:45 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday by Father Leon Hont, OSB at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany. Due to public health concerns masks are required.
