WILSON – Geraldine P. “Gerry,” 90, Sidman, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Arbutus Park Manor surrounded by family. Born April 16, 1925, in Summerhill Township, daughter of the late Harvey C. and Stella (Coleman) Miller. Preceded in death by brothers, Howard, Joseph, Earl, Glenn and Harvey; and sisters, Thelma, Ethel Riblett and Hilda Hazlett. Survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Clair Wilson, whom she married Sept. 10, 1947; children, Cheryl, married to Kenneth Turgeon, Sidman; Karen, married to Donald Eppley, Sidman; and Brian, married to Sharon (Bowen), Summerhill; grandchildren, Derek (Lori) Turgeon, Ryan (Renee) Turgeon, Jeffrey (Allison) Turgeon, Elizabeth (Glenn) Katrancha, Brock (Maria) Eppley, Chad (Julie) Eppley, Troy (Karen) Eppley, Kevin (Kate) Wilson and Scott (Kristin) Wilson; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Wilson, Summerhill; and Betty Hess, Elton; and brother-in-law, Glenn Wilson, Summerhill. Gerry was a lifetime member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Sidman, having served faithfully as pianist, choir director, choir member, bible school teacher, Conference Delegate and kitchen committee member for many years. Gerry was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest sense of pride was in her family and their accomplishments, whether large or small. She was a wonderful cook who liked to try new recipes and was known for her cherry pies. She loved meeting new people and was always willing to lend a listening ear. Gerry was a blessing to many in the years she lived at Arbutus Park Manor. The family is so very appreciative of the wonderful, loving care she received from the compassionate staff at Crossroads, as well as Asera Care in her final weeks. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork. Viewing also will be held one hour prior to funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive United Methodist Church, the Rev. Thomas W. Moore, officiating.
