WEYANDT – Gerald Wayne “Butch,” 69, South Fork, died October 8, 2021, at home. Born May 21, 1952, in Johnstown, son of the late Gerald W. Sr. and Catherine A. (McMahon) Weyandt.
Survived by loving wife of 47 years, Connie L. (Wilkinson) Weyandt, whom he married November 10, 1973; son, William “Buck,” married to Terri (Wayne), Mount Hope; daughter, Tina, wife of Paul Paczek, Lovettsville, Virginia; beloved grandchildren, Kim and Ryan Weyandt; and Julianna, Evan, and Lucas Paczek; sister, Susan, married to Tim New, Mount Hope; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Butch was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1970. Member of St. Michael Sportsman’s Club, Jamestown PNA, and Mountain Cry Coon Hunters. His career spanned from construction to the steel mills and coal mines. US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he served during Desert Storm, and retired from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He enjoyed a warm fire on a cool night, the beauty of the outdoors, and hunting and fishing with family and friends.
A celebration of Butch’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sandy Run Hunting & Fishing Club, 557 Ragers Hill Road, South Fork. Military service by St. Michael American Legion post 551. Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
