George R. Jarvie

November 12, 1949 — April 5, 2024

JARVIE – George, 74, passed away April 5, 2024. Born November 12, 1949, in Summerhill, son of Joseph R. Jarvie and Anna Romaine (Hampson) Jarvie-Keeney. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Joanne Davis; brothers, Thomas and James “Bob;” and sisters-in-law, Julie (Thomas’s wife), Violet (Bob’s wife), and Judy (John’s wife).

Survived by children, Joanne M. Regala (Darcy), Terri L. Jarvie, and Joseph (Amy Johns); grandchildren, Johnathan, Kara, Cody, Lashaun, Maeteshia, Justin, and Jasmine; brother, John; special nephew, James “Bobby” Jarvie; and former wife, Sharon (MacTavish) Jarvie.

George was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1969. He was an avid boater and camper, and especially enjoyed summers at Raystown Lake with family and friends. He loved tubing and skiing, along with whipping his grandchildren across the lake as they held onto the tube for dear life. He also loved traveling with his family and vacationing to different places. A real spit fire who never missed the chance to pick on and tease Kara, Johnathan, and Cody every time he saw them. George brought joy and laughter everywhere he went. He was a great brother, father, and grandfather who will be cherished in our hearts and forever missed.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Special thanks to Courtney Sumner and the staff of AseraCare Hospice for their kindness and care.
