COUTTS – George V. Jr., 76, Shippensburg, formerly of St. Michael, Pa., died January, 27, 2018 at home. Born November 19,1941, in Johnstown, son of George V. Sr. and Dorothy I. (Gindlesperger) Coutts. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Connie (Ruffing); daughter, Elaine J. (Coutts) Mayes; grandson, Bradley S. Mayes; infant great-granddaughter, Jade Renee; and sisters, Barbara Hoffman and Peggy Poling. Survived by wife, Virginia (Peters); sons, George, married to Hope (Yuzwa), Carlisle; and Ron, St. Michael; son-in-law, David A. Mayes Sr., South Fork; grandchildren, Morgan, Nathan and Hunter Coutts , and David Mayes Jr.; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Vincint, Sophia and Ariana; step-sons, Stephen Jr. Loy, Carlisle; and Joshua Loy, Shippensburg; step-grandson, Kyle Loy; and brother-in-law, Galen Hoffman, Westerly, Rhode Island. Brother of Doris Wright, Lancaster; Richard (Shirley), Gettysburg; Caro l (Ellsworth) Pauley, Portage; Robert (Denise) St. Michael; and Gary, Johnstown. Following his retirement from the coal mines George worked as a van driver for local nursing homes. He was huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and golfing. George was a wonderful guy and will be dearly missed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Maple Street, South Fork, the Rev. Arlene Bobrowicz officiating. Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
