Florence L. Smith

SMITH – Florence L., 85, St. Michael, went to be with the Lord November 26, 2019, at home. Born September 3, 1934, in South Fork, daughter of Matthew S. Sr. and Susan (Cashmire) Petrunak.

Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, Charles R. “Smitty” Smith, who died September 23, 2018; son, Wayne; and brothers, George, Paul Sr., Jacob, and Matthew Petrunak.

Survived by children, Nancy Broad (Mario), Fredericksburg, Virginia; Richard Smith (Apryl), Johnstown; and Betty Jane, wife of Barry Wadsworth, St. Michael; grandchildren, Adam (Susan), Tony (Lisa), Allison (Ben), Benjamin (Mindy), Timothy, Aaron (Melissa) and Jason; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Agnes Noon.

Florence was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael; and was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1952. She was a retired Registered Nurse who had a passion for caring for others. She enjoyed sewing and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her gentle and giving spirit will be missed by all who loved her.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Monsignor David Lockard and the Very Reverend Father Leonard Voytek VF, con-celebrants.
