SWARTZENTRUVER – Fern E., 73, Windber, died August 26, 2018, at Windber Woods. Born September 16, 1944, in Elizabeth, NJ, daughter of Anthony and Gloria (Peterson) Yerich, Jr. Preceded in death by parents and son-in-law, Ralph Layton.
Survived by children: Elizabeth Layton, Ebensburg; Jessie Swartzentruver and fiancé, Lorraine, Mays Landing, NJ; Jenny Dallas, and fiancé, Keith Mock, South Fork; Jay Swartzentruver, married to Sharon (Updyke), Windber; and Dale Swartzentruver, Windber; grandchildren, Joshua , Keri, Jade, JJ, and Ashley; 7 great-grandchildren; former husband, Jay C. Swartzentruver, Ebensburg; numerous relatives and friends (especially pinochle friends) and her pets.
She enjoyed bingo, casino trips, basket parties, and fishing.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, by Fr. Brian Warchola. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
