Evelyn N. Motchenbaugh

MOTCHENBAUGH – Evelyn N., 85, New Germany, died January 14, 2020, at Laurelwood Care Center, Westmont.
Born April 23, 1934, in New Germany, the last surviving child of Timothy and Matilda (Wirfel) Motchenbaugh.
Preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Jane Motchenbaugh; sisters, Elizabeth Schrift, Hilda Meier, Dorothy Wissinger, and Catherine “Kate” Motchenbaugh; and brothers, Paul, Bernard, and Hilary. Survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany. She retired from JoAnn Apparel in Ebensburg. She was a talented seamstress and together with her sister Kate created exquisite handcrafted quilts. Evelyn also loved planting beautiful flower gardens and enjoyed sharing the many vegetables she grew.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 16 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Leon Hont, OSB Celebrant.
Committal, St. Marys Cemetery, New Germany.
