Esther M. Roush

ROUSH – Esther M., 86, New Germany, died October 2, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 24, 1936, in Puritan (Portage), daughter of John S. and Blanche (Baron) Mastaler. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Russell A. Roush, who died August 2, 2006; daughter, Lori M. Roush; infant twin daughters, Cynthia and Christine; sister, Louise Schechter; and brothers, Anthony, Thomas, Joseph, Fred and Daniel.

Survived by daughters, Diane, wife of Dale Angleberger, Walkersville, Maryland; Carol, wife of David Carden, Sidman; Janice, wife of Mark Gahagen, Portage; Francine, wife of Keith Shreiner, Elizabethtown; and Marianne, wife of Eric Mucker, Thurmont, Maryland; sister, Blanche Husinka, Elton; grandchildren, Emily (William) Pearl, Megan Angleberger, Katie (James) Berrigan, Alyssa (Mark) Cronauer, Russell (Stephanie Lee) Carden, Zachary (Jordan Makin) Carden, Jonathan Carden, Julie (Raymond) Sechrist, Amy Seabrooks, Christopher (Rose Weidner) Seabrooks, and Elliana, Adalynn, Brielle, Everley, and Delaney Mucker; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Esther was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany; and enjoyed fellowship with friends in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Portage Area High School, class of 1954. Esther enjoyed polkas and playing bingo and pinochle; but Mom was truly happiest when she was surrounded by family. Her devoted and caring spirit leaves a legacy of joy and gratitude in the hearts of all who loved her.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Rosary service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, followed by celebration of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
