YOSSI – Emma M., 99, St. Michael, formerly of South Fork, died April 29, 2017, at Rose of Sharon. Born October 26, 1917, in Monticello, Iowa; oldest daughter of Alfred Sr. and Emma (Egger) Yossi. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Alfred Jr.; sisters, Bertha Clement; Pauline Hines; Elfreida Behrends; Ruth Wroblewski and Helen Stoneking; sister-in-law, Helen Yossi; brothers-in-law, Joe Clement; Edwin Behrends; Laverne Bartles; Stan Wroblewski and Paul Stoneking; and also, one nephew and four nieces.
Survived by brothers, John; and Herman (Ginny) Yossi; and sister, Marie Bartles, all of Monticello, Iowa; brother-in-law, Harold Hines, Brooklyn, Iowa; 13 nieces and seven nephews; and dear friends, Donald and Antoinette “Cookie” (Brence) Murphy, and their five children and 11 grandchildren.
Emma was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork. She worked as a clerk at Murphy’s Market, Lambs Bridge, from 1944 until their closing in 1988. She will always be remembered as a lifelong friend, whose gentle ways and sweet smile endeared her to over four generations of the Murphy family. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where the Rosary will be prayed Tuesday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, by Fr. Joseph C. Nale.
