WADSWORTH – Ellen Jane (Walters), 82, Johnstown, died December 30, 2016 at Windber Hospice, surrounded by loving family. Born March 23, 1934, in South Fork, daughter of Thomas J. and Julia Belle (Theys) Phillips.
Preceded in death by parents; granddaughter, Alyssa Ann Hoover; sister-in-law, Lois Phillips; and brother-in-law, Donald Navatsyk.
Survived by husband, Ralph Wadsworth, whom she married June 29, 2001; daughter, Pamela, wife of Lawrence Hoover, Johnstown; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren, engaged to Kurt Hoffman, Alexa, Jared, and Zachary, all of Johnstown; brothers, Harvey, Euclid, Ohio; and Thomas, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sisters, Anna Navatsyk, who was her best friend, Chardon, Ohio; Judy, wife of Ronald Woznick, Bloomsburg; and Beverly, wife of Anthony Lesko, Waldorf, Maryland; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Ellen was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School class of 1951. Member of South Fork First United Methodist Church. She worked for many years at Crago’s Drug Store and retired from Laurel Crest Manor as manager of the laundry department. She was a member of the Cambria County Retired Employees Association and was the last surviving member of the “Agitators Club.” She enjoyed sewing, baking delicious treats, making wonderful candies, and going to the casino. She cherished spending time with family and especially loved cheering on her grandchildren at their many games and events.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Viewing also at First United Methodist Church, South Fork, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Terry Trudgen, officiating.
