MILLER – Elizabeth E., “Betty,” 75, South Fork, went to be with her Lord, October 17, 2016, at Windber Hospice, surrounded by loved ones. Born February 1, 1941, in Cresson Township, daughter of the late Clyde J. and Ruth M. (Layman) Baumgardner.
Survived by loving husband of 56 years, Robert R. Miller, whom she married July 23, 1960; children, Donna, wife of Howard Penrod, South Fork; Douglas, married to Alisha (Stohon), Summerhill, Patti, wife of Donald Hudson, Summerhill; and Jeffrey, married to Diane (Lieb), Glen Allen, Virginia; beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Howard, Jr., Savannah, Shane, Garrett, Connor, Chase, Seth, Eden, Elias and Lydia; sister to, Irene, wife of Weldon Seese, Summerhill; Robert, married to Marlene (Weaver), South Fork; Raymond, married to Joyce (Bowser), South Fork; Esther, widow of Lee Chestnutwood, Salix; Marlin, married to Bernie (Huber), South Fork; and Ronald, married to Susan (Davis), South Fork.
Betty was an active member of First United Methodist Church and their Philathea Class, South Fork. She was a member of the South Fork Women’s Club. As a young woman she was active with the 4H club and enjoyed showing steers at the Cambria County Fair. She was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1958 and earned her associate degree from Cambria Rowe Business College. Over the years she worked for Murphy’s Store at Lamb’s Bridge; Household Finance, Johnstown; W.T. Grants, Johnstown; and was a retired secretary from United Methodist Human Services after 25 years of service.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Viewing also at First United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Terry Trudgen officiating.
Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
