MARGO – Edward P., 90, Sidman, died August 28, 2021, at Windber Hospice. Born June 9, 1931, in Beaverdale, son of George and Elizabeth (Hamas) Margo. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Carol (Krupa) Margo, who died November 25, 1975; brother, George; and sister, Mary Ann Sirko.
Survived by son, Edward, engaged to Susan Mehr, Bel Air, Maryland; daughters, Susan Margo, Upper Yoder; and Barbara Margo, Ebensburg; grandson, Justin, married to Jordan (Ambrose), Morganton, North Carolina; granddaughter, Nicole Margo, Baltimore, Maryland; great grandchildren, Cole and Lily Margo; numerous in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Ed retired after 33 years at Bethlehem Steel working in the Open Hearth. He was also a US Navy veteran who proudly served in the Pacific (Japan/Philippines/Guam) on the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier. Ed enjoyed making his own wine, hunting, fishing, gardening, and enjoying the outdoors. He also was an avid cook, baker, and especially cherished quality time spent with family.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Maple Street, South Fork.
Interment, St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Beaverdale.
Military graveside service by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
