PATALUNE - Edna Victoria (Mida), 98, of South Fork, died peacefully at Rebekah Manor on July 19, 2021. Edna was the wife of 60 years to Joseph “Pat” Patalune. Born May 22, 1923 in Ehrenfeld, Edna graduated South Fork High School in 1941.
She was then employed as a bookkeeper for the coal mine company store. She also worked for a time at a sewing factory. Edna was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She faithfully attended Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, and later Most Holy Trinity, in South Fork. Grandma Edna loved playing pinochle and other card games. She had fun playing Yahtzee with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She liked watching her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s baseball and softball games and other activities.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary (MacTivish) Mida; niece, Darlene (Fresh) Kemerer Thomas; sister, Nelly Fresh; and husband, Pat.
Survived by children, Joseph Patalune, Robert (Maggie) Patalune, Judith (David) Patalune Carl, and Barbara Schlanger. She was the proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren: Joe Patalune and son Riley; Ryan Patalune(Jennifer); Aaron Patalune(Lisa) and children Bailey, Jackson, Casey, and Shannon; Amanda Patalune; Amy Patalune(Tony Southern); Emily Stocker(George) and daughters Faith, Penelope, and Adelaide; Katherine Carl; Teddy Schlanger(Julia) and children Nathan and Annabelle; Nicholas Schlanger; Benjamin Schlanger.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday July 22, 2021 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.
