Dwight M. Fyock

January 24, 1934 — October 29, 2024

FYOCK—Dwight M. “Whitey” and “Pappy,” 90, Sidman, died October 29, 2024. Born January 24, 1934, in Johnstown, son of Merle E. and Elizabeth C. (Held) Fyock.

Preceded in death parents; daughter, Priscilla Hritz; grandson, Joseph Hritz; sisters, Helen Sustersich, Mary Jane Kleitches, Arlene Fyock, Audrey Fyock, Donna Hillegas, and Janet Sharp; brothers, Bruce Sr., Arnold, Howard, and Kenneth Fyock; daughter-in-law, Patricia Fyock; and son-in-law, Ronald Pheasant Sr.

Survived by beloved wife, Mary T. (DeLozier) Fyock; daughter, Edith Pheasant; sons, Leonard; and Timothy Fyock (Betty); son-in-law, Walter Hritz; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings, Robert Fyock (Christine), Janice Fyock, and Regina Harris; and in-laws, George Sharp, and Patricia and Joann Fyock.

Dwight was a devoted husband to Mary for an incredible 70 years. Their love story is a testament to partnership, commitment, and unwavering support. Together, they created a beautiful family, nurturing a home filled with laughter and warmth. He had a great smile and his sense of humor had a way of making life seem a little lighter, a little brighter, and a lot more fun. He was best known for his work at Fyock Painting but he also had a passion for farming and dreamt of one day owning his own farm. Family was everything to Dwight. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, attending their sports games, school events, and activities. His perfect day would have been at a family reunion, playing horseshoes and drinking a cold beer. Though he didn’t get his wish to live to 141 years old, you could say he bought the farm! His life taught us all the importance of family, hard work, and love.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Father Jerzy Auguscik, OFM Conv., and Father Brian Warchola concelebrants.

Committal, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown.
