LONG – Dorothy L., 94, Summerhill, passed away peacefully July 8, 2020, at home with loving family by her side. Born August 31, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of Harry and Mary E. (Glonchak) Turner. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph R. Long, who died June 19, 1998; and infant grandson, Stacy Smith.
Survived by children, Joann I., wife of Harold “Pat” Smith; Joseph M., married to Susan Jo (Taylor); and Michael J., married to Bobbie Jo (Jarvie), all of Summerhill; Susan M. Kimmell, Johnstown; and Bonita L. Long, Summerhill; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Summerhill. She was a loving and devoted mother, had a kind and generous spirit; and was always willing to help others. Mom was happiest when she saw her children and grandchildren reach their accomplishments and experience joy in their lives. And family gatherings were always made special by her amazing efforts to prepare wonderful meals, celebrations, and time together.
Friends will be received from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Leon Hont, OSB at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church.
Committal, St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery, Wilmore.
