Donna J. Thornton

THORNTON – Donna J., 60, Enola, formerly of South Fork; died April 11, 2024, at Conemaugh Hospital. Born August 18, 1963, in Johnstown, daughter of James C. and Jean L. (Noon) Martin. Preceded in death by father, and brothers-in-law, Nick Jorich and Frank Mundok.

Survived by husband of 31 years, Scott D. Thornton, whom she married August 22, 1992; mother; siblings, Diana Mundok; James (Sally Lermineau); LeeAnn (Brain Owens); Jill Jorich; Craig; and Jason (Mary Ann Jenkins); numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. 

Donna was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1981. She was an HR specialist with A.P. Williams Construction and member of Grace Community Church, Mechanicsburg. Donna was a kind and gentle person who found happiness in traveling and had a special place in her heart for Lake Raystown. In choosing to be an organ and tissue donor, she leaves a legacy of hope and healing.

A memorial gathering will be held from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday May 18, 2024, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Reverend Brandon Brown, presiding. A luncheon will be served immediately following at South Fork First Evangelical Church. 

A service will also be held Saturday June 29, 2024, from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at the 1840 Farm, 101 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, the Reverend Brandon Brown, presiding. All are welcome to stay for a meal and fellowship.
