Donald K. Custer

CUSTER – Donald Kenneth, 89, Portage, died March 3, 2023 at home. Born July 26, 1933, in Portage, son of Howard and Bertha (Nelson) Custer. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Eileen Tranter, Jerri Templeton, Lorraine Marks, and Edna Huff; and brothers, Nelson and Reverend Robert Custer.

Survived by loving wife of 66 years, Catherine A. (Myers), whom he married June 27, 1956; children, Tracy, Portage; Kenneth, married to Sara (Marcinko), Damascus, Maryland; and Katherine, married to William Dunkle, Venetia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jessica Dunkle and William Dunkle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was a retired electrician from Beth Energy Mine 33. He enjoyed summers spent with family at Lake Raystown and was especially comforted by the many visits from family, neighbors, and their pets.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Father Thomas Stabile, T.O.R., celebrant.

Committal, St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Masks are appreciated, but not required.
