Dolly M. Smick

SMICK – Dolly M., 89, Portage, went to be with the Lord August 26, 2020, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born July 29, 1931, in South Fork, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Trimbath) Sargo.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Andrew Smick, who died May 26, 1996; sisters, Eleanor Harpster, Lorna Brummert, Betty Kroskie, Violet Orkis, and Shirley DeMatteis; and brother, Louis Sargonia.

Survived by children, Richard Sargo, married to Mary Sue (Williams), State College; Delores M. Smick, Ebensburg; Andrew J., married to Linda (Olsick), Cresson; Kenneth J. Smick, Portage; and Shirley Moschgat, Portage; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brother, Joseph, married to Janet (Gabany), Milan, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolly was a member of First Assembly of God, Windber. She had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord and found peace and comfort through prayer. She enjoyed puzzles, yard sales, and watching football. She treasured time spent with family and cherished nostalgic drives past old familiar places, sharing fond memories and reminiscing about days gone by, and of course stopping for ice cream along the way.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Reverend David McGee presiding.
