Diana Lynn Bender

BENDER – Diana Lynn, 58, Altoona, formerly of Portage; passed away unexpectedly July 22, 2019, at UPMC Altoona. Born November 21, 1960, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Mirrel and Rita (George) Plummer.

Survived by loving husband of 17 years, David Bender, whom she married September 15, 2001; daughters, Danielle Abbotts, engaged to Jim Hardison; Margaret “Tink,” wife of Bill Skelly; and Jessie Staley; step-children, Jason Bender and Michele Bender; grandchildren, Jordanne and Jonah; Jacob, Marissa, and Levi; Bryce, Lakin, and Paisley; Taylor, Trevor, Tanner, and Jillian; and Isaiah and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Levi and Xavier; sisters, Belinda, Ellen, Maggie, Barbara, Tammy and Violet; brother, Mirrel Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends.

Diana worked for Cambria Residential Services for many years and retired from the dietary department at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home. She enjoyed trips to Arizona and Virginia; she loved hiking, the beauty of the outdoors, feeding the birds and deer, and spending time with her beloved family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Maple Street, South Fork, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday.

Interment, Mount Olive Cemetery, Sidman.
