PENATZER – Dennis J., 93, Ebensburg, passed away January 30, 2025. Born July 18, 1931, in Summerhill. Preceded in death by parents, Rudolph L. and Amelia (Schrift) Penatzer; infant daughters, Mary, Ann, and Patricia; sisters, Dorothy Rolla, Josephine Miller, and Violet Sonafelt; brothers, Donald, Earl, Charles, and Rudolph, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Catherine (Fraser).
Survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Patricia A. (Schrift) Penatzer, whom he married June 20, 1953; sons, Jeffrey L., married to Vanessa (Pfendler); and Brian T.; and grandchildren, Mara, Jeffrey, Heather, and Emily.
A graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, Dennis was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Knights of Columbus, Council 1522; and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He spent nearly three decades at Acme Market, where he managed the meat department. For almost 20 years, Dennis and Patricia worked together as a real estate team, helping countless people find their dream homes. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and spending time outdoors enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. In work and in life, Dennis always put others first. He was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and devoted friend whose kind heart made others feel welcome and appreciated.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Father Brian L. Warchola, Celebrant.
