Dennis B. Bowen

BOWEN – Dennis Bray, 82, South Fork, went to be with the Lord January 9, 2024. Born August 15, 1941, in South Fork, son of J. Earl and Marion E. (Bray) Bowen. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Carole Yeager; and brother, William D. Bowen.

Survived by beloved wife, Dorothy L. (Ellenberger) Bowen, whom he married May 25, 1963; son, David (Misti Parkin); daughters, Debbie (Mark Wadsworth); and Dawna (Scott Gerney); grandchildren, Jarrett Bowen, Jensen Bowen, Nathan Gerney (Michaela), Kayla Gerney, and Matthew Wadsworth; great granddaughter, Sylvia Brae Gerney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Denny was a devoted member of South Fork First Evangelical Church; where he enjoyed fellowship with friends in the Men’s Choir and Bible Class. Graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1959. Former member of South Fork Volunteer Fire Department and the South Fork Lions Club. Denny was a longtime commercial truck driver for Luther P. Miller and retired bus driver from Miller Motors. He shared a storybook tale of love with his best friend and beloved wife of 60 years. Whether he was bird watching, sitting on the porch swing, or out for a Sunday drive, he did it all with his bride by his side.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at South Fork Evangelical Church, the Reverend Randy Landman, presiding.
