MARKER – Constance D., “Connie,” 78, Summerhill, died April 22, 2017, at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg. Born May 12, 1938, in Johnstown, daughter of Cletus and Frances (McDunn) Shrift. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John F. Marker, who died April 23, 2009; son, Michael J.; sister, Carol Woomer; and brothers, Patrick, Donald, Jack, Robert, and James Shrift.
Survived by children, John P., married to Patricia (McCullough), Level Green; Thomas E., married to Linda (Oesterle), Pittsburgh; Patrick J., married to Lori (Meier), Huntingdon; and Teri, wife of Earl E. Weaver, Hollidaysburg; grandchildren, Bryan Marker, married to Danielle (Peachey), Kevin, Olivia, Audrey, and Sophia Marker, and Brendon and Zackary Weaver; sisters, Sr. Helen Marie Shrift, S.S.J., Baden, Pennsylvania; and Judith, wife of Leonard Richeal, Woodbury New Jersey; and also many nieces and nephews.
Connie was a graduate of Johnstown Catholic High, class of 1956. She retired from the Ebensburg Center after many years of service as an aide. Faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill, where she had served as an organist, music director and member of the Altar Rosary Society. She will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, selfless devotion, and the loving care she provided to others.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held at 7:15 p.m. Monday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s by Father Leon Hont, OSB.
