RUDDEK – Charles F., 90, Mount Hope, died November 20, 2017, at home. Born May 23, 1927, in Fifficktown, son of Friedrich Ruddek and Wilhelmine (Wiescholek) Ruddek-Primel. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Dorothy L. (Burnheimer) Ruddek, who died October 7, 2012; son, Larry Ruddek; brother, Hans Ruddek; daughter-in-law, Cathy Jean (Straw) Ruddek; step-father, Frank Primel Sr.; and step-brother, Frank Primel Jr.
Survived by sons, Ricky C., South Fork; Randy, Wilmore; Harry W., married to Yvette (Barbalish), Dunlo; James W., Mount Hope; daughter, Cora, wife of James Hunter, Fishertown; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Johnson, Violet, Louisiana.
Charles was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Retired heavy equipment operator for PennDot. He attended Mount Hope United Methodist Church and was a member of AFSME, American Legion Post 653, South Fork; and VFW Post 7524, South Fork. He was an outdoor enthusiast who liked hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed playing and coaching softball and was an avid gardener. His greatest joy though came from relaxing with friends and spending time with his beloved family.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Hope United Methodist Church, Mount Hope, the Rev. Joseph Stains officiating.
Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
