HOGUE – Charles Edwin Jr. “Ed,” 75, Summerhill, died May 4, 2024. Born November 25, 1948, in Johnstown, son of Charles E. Sr. and Ann (Hoover) Hogue. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Maryanne Mikolich (John); brothers, David (Donna Keppler), Timothy, and Thomas Hogue; and in-laws, Robert and Marjorie (Beba) Bodenschatz.
Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Vivian (Bodenschatz); children, Charles E. III, married to Tamara (Eagleson); Joy, wife of Rich Sivec; Stephanie, wife of Michael Bobak; Christopher; and Pamela, wife of Ben Swiger; grandchildren, Madison, McKenzie, Maggie, Derek, Rachael, Ethan, Avery, Carter, Elijah, and Gavin; brothers, Dennis, married to Barbara (Lohr); and Mark, married to Theresa (Fisher); sister, Margaret “Peggy,” wife of David Rovida; and sister-in-law, Maryann (Reilly) Hogue.
Ed proudly served in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He was a skilled craftsman behind the camera and retired from L. Robert Kimball & Associates after 36 years as an Aerial Photographer. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ed was an active member of several organizations, including the St. Michael American Legion, Post 551, where he “played” the bugle on the ritual team. His dedication to honoring his fellow veterans reflected his deep respect for those who served our country. He was also a member of the Summerhill Social Club, Wilmore Sportsman’s Club, and the Windber Sportsmen’s Association. His memory will continue to soar high in the hearts of all who loved him.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Tuesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant. Committal, St. Marys Cemetery, New Germany. Military rites by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
