She was a faithful and active member of Beaverdale Alliance Church, where she was Church Treasurer for 42 years, served as the Sunday School Treasurer, taught Sunday School and Youth Group; and was a member of their Sympathy Committee and the Women’s Prayer Group. Katie was a compassionate, loving, and giving soul. She was devoted to helping the sick and homebound, sharing countless meals and offering groceries to those in need. She was an avid reader, kept her mind active with puzzle books, and enjoyed the outdoors where she found peace in God’s creation. She worked for Peerless Shoes, Deyarmin’s Store, and was a retired bookkeeper and secretary from United Jewelers. Though she will be greatly missed, her loving spirit was a blessing to all who knew her.
