Caroline M. Dombrosky

July 28, 1929 — October 4, 2016

DOMBROSKY – Caroline M., 87, New Germany, died October 4, 2016 surrounded by family. Born July 28, 1929, in New Germany, daughter of George “Jack” and Rose M. (Wirfel) Bopp.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward L. Dombrosky, who died October 12, 1996; grandson, Brett Dombrosky; sister, Regina Schall and brothers, Anthony, Paul and William.

Survived by children, Timothy, New Germany; Leroy, Summerhill; Kenneth, married to Lisa (Behe), Portage; Beth, wife of James Majcher, New Germany; and Ronald, New Germany; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Clare, wife to Paul Kundrod, Sidman; and brother, Robert, married to Frances (Milko), New Germany.

As a nurturing wife and mother she dedicated her life to her family. She was an active and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and their Altar and Rosary Society, New Germany. To her, baking was an art form. She was known for her delicate and delicious pie crust and made the most wonderful apple pie. Caroline enjoyed cooking and catering at New Germany Grove Hall for over 50 years, where she served countless meals for church picnics, fish fries, banquets and weddings. She was an avid Jeff Gordon fan and loved watching the Steelers. She shared many life lessons simply by example and instilled in us that faith in the Lord is the best foundation you can have, and being happy and having love fill your heart is what truly matters. Our lives have been truly blessed because of her.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where the Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and vigil for the deceased will be held.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, by Fr. Leon Hont, O.S.B.

Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Germany.

Special thanks to Lisa Alta for her years of loving care and to Interim Hospice for their kindness and support.
