Carol A. Bassett

BASSETT – Carol Ann, 72, South Fork, died March 31, 2019, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born July 30, 1946, in Nanty Glo.

Preceded in death by parents, John Jr. and Mildred (Lukezic) Sikora; husband, Richard L. Bassett, who died April 18, 2002; step-grandson, Richie Dunn and brothers-in-law, Thomas McDermott and Alan Bassett.

Survived by step-children, Danny, Sidman; Timothy, married to Sharon (Johns), South Fork; Valerie, wife of Michael Varnish, South Fork; and Leslie Bassett, Kewaskum, Wisconsin; 4 step-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, sister, Elizabeth, “Betsy,” McDermott, Nanty Glo; brother, John, married to Janice (Allen), Richfield, Ohio; nieces, Kelly (Joseph) Shook and Melissa (Steve) Cleveland; nephews, Mark (Christie) McDermott, Patrick (Donna) McDermott, P.J. (Shelly) McDermott, Brad (Kellie) McDermott and John (Violetta) Sikora; brother-in-law, Barry (Pat) Bassett; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

Carol was a graduate of Triangle Area High School, class of 1963. Following high school, she entered the LPN program at Lee Hospital. During her career she dedicated herself to the care of others as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, Good Samaritan and the Crichton Rehabilitation Center.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork, Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.
