BEERS – Beverly Jean, 67, Summerhill, died July 25, 2021, at home. Born October 12, 1953, in Allegheny County, daughter of Albert and Alice (Waterman) Opperman. Preceded in death by parents; infant sister, Juanita; and sister, Penny D. Szymkiewicz.
Survived by loving husband of 31 years, William G. Beers, whom she married September 9, 1989, Summerhill; sons, Robert James McKenzie, married to Angee (Story), Jacksonville, FL, and Kenneth Eugene McKenzie, married to Jennifer (Booth), Pittsburgh; granddaughters, Rachel McKenzie, and Caitlynn, wife of Cody Kearley all of Jacksonville; brother, Henry Opperman, Rochester, NY; and sister; Pauline, wife of James Kane, Carrolltown. Also her husband’s siblings: Catherine (Richard) Natta, Teresa (Terry) Alexander, Herman Jr. (Paula) Beers, Dennis (Lisa) Beers, Kenneth (Mary) Beers, Raymond Beers, and Michael Beers.
Beverly retired as a case manager from the Salvation Army after 30 years of caring for people.
She was an avid bookworm who especially enjoyed mystery novels, but would also entertain herself with games on her cell phone.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, Major Kathleen Waddell presiding.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Cambria County Association for the Blind and Handicapped.
