NADONLEY – Bernice Ann “Blanche,” 88, South Fork, passed away September 13, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian surrounded by her loving family. Born November 13, 1934, in East Conemaugh-Johnstown, daughter of John and Mary (Rykala) Szwast.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Clemens Donald “Don” Nadonley, who died January 9, 2022; son, Leonard T; grandson, Dennis Mathieson; daughter-in-law, Lori; infant brother, Andy; twin brother, Casimir; brothers, Stanley, Theodore, Andrew, and Blaine; and sisters, Catherine, Estelle and Sophia. “Bruncha” was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survived by children, Donald, Mark (Nancy), Donna Mathieson (Denny), and Arnie (Bonnie); grandchildren, Brooke, Scott, Tiffany, Crystal, Allison, Rylan, Christina, Jesse, and Anthony, and ten great-grandchildren. Aunt Blanche is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece Janie George. Blanche loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was proud of her Polish heritage, enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music, loved making pierogies and halupki, and truly enjoyed playing her "numbers." While she always quipped about winning the lottery, we won the lottery with the strength, faith, hope, and love that she instilled in us. We are so proud of her.
Family and Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Joseph Nale, Celebrant.
Committal, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
