Barry Lee Giffin

GIFFIN - Barry Lee, 72, Salix, died September 1, 2021, at home surrounded by loving family. Born July 18, 1949, in Johnstown, son of the late John and Verda (Shaffer) Giffin.

Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Peggy (Pease) Giffin, whom he married July 25, 1970; daughter, Barbara (Bill) Darden, California, Maryland; son, Kenneth (Kelli), Gaithersburg, Maryland; and Michael (Danielle), New Germany; grandchildren, Cameron, Owen, and Jillian Darden; Addison, Amelia, Daphne, and Henry Giffin; and Makallie and Dylan Giffin; siblings, John "Bill" (Delores), Beverly Penrod-Jones, Connie Miller – Mulcahy (Pat), Greg Giffin, Gaylen Giffin (Denise), and Gaye Goldyn (Stanley); and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1967. Barry was a member of Salix Bethel United Methodist Church. A heavy equipment operator by trade, he was a talented woodworker, had a passion for farming and working the land, and cherished time together with his beloved family and his chocolate lab, Buddy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salix Bethel United Methodist Church, the Reverend Don Poole presiding.

Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery.
