Barbara A. Wilde

WILDE – Barbara, 76, Summerhill, died October 2, 2024. Born May 25, 1948, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Mildred (Spence) Bopp; infant son, Alan J. Wilde; infant great grandson, Carson; and brothers, Daniel and Paul Bopp. 

Survived by beloved husband of 55 years, George Wilde, children, Carl; George Jr. (Amy Swanger); and Brenda Panick; grandchildren, Erica, Destiny, Payton (Quinton O’Hara), Colton, and Sheldyn, great grandchildren, Corbin and Ryder; siblings, Gary (Patricia Kowalski); Marlene (Kevin McGinnis); Carl (Diane Mickus); Elinora (Paul Borelle); Margaret (Lenny Langham); and Alan (Sandra Tew); in-laws, Darlene (Hopfer) Bopp and Norma (Cotterman) Bopp; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Barb read romance novels as fast as Harlequin could print them. She had a gift with her hands, whether she was altering clothing to make it fit just right or preparing delicious meals. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting scents of homemade sauce and meals crafted from her homemade canned goods. But what Barb treasured most in this world was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She found joy in their presence; creating bonds that will endure in their hearts forever. 

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
