KATRANCHA – Barbara, 95, of Dunlo, died May 18, 2020. Born October 19, 1924, in Johnstown; daughter of Evan and Mary (Podrebarac) Kolar.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Michael J. “Mickey” Katrancha; son-in-law, Christian Bassich; sisters, Cecelia Kolar, Mary Katrancha, and Dorothy Kozar; and brothers, Evan, George, and Steve Kolar.
Survived by son, Darryl, married to Pamela (Salem), Norfolk, Virginia; daughters, Linda, wife of William Scullion, Elton; and Karen Bassich, Silver Spring, Maryland; grandchildren, Jedd (Julianna) Katrancha, Aaron (DeAnna) Katrancha, Dennis (Ashley) Bassich, and Jay Bassich; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilma Suhar, Cleveland, Ohio.
Barbara was a graduate of Adams High School, class of 1942. Member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael. She was also a member of Dunlo American Legion Post 573, Ladies Auxiliary; Dunlo Volunteer Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary, Cambria County Fire Auxiliary, and Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 5. Barbara was an avid sports fan and closely followed the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Pitt sports. Most of all, Barbara loved cooking and baking and extending her hospitality to her family and friends.
A Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church, Monsignor David Lockard Celebrant.
Committal, Corpus Christi Cemetery, Dunlo.
