Arzella C. “Ary,” 96, Summerhill, passed away July 4, 2017. She was born on August 20, 1920, the third daughter of Albert and Amelia (Berschneider) Seifert. Ary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Joseph F. Kirby, who passed away July 3, 1979; brothers, Clement and Robert Seifert; and sister, Zita Marie Seifert.
Survived by children, Elizabeth Seno and husband David Barnard; Jeanne Mathieson and husband James; Kathleen Puruczky and husband William; Dr. Thomas Kirby and wife Dr. Barbara Hindenach; Robert and wife Terri (Sowash); and Patrick and wife Donna (Hughes); grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Mamie, Josh, Anna, and Maria Seno; Lee and Kira Mathieson; Mike Puruczky, and Sara (Puruczky) Charles; Nigel, Conrad, Dasha, David, and Jon Kirby; and Laura (Kirby) Walker. Mamie was also great grandmother to Morgan, Rachel, Hannah, Amelia, Colin, Malia, Nate, and Francie. In addition, Ary is survived by sisters, Margaret Ludwig, Regina Gaumer, Lucille Kist, and Shirley Eggie, and brother, Albert Seifert.
Ary was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill, and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her children will always remember her breaking into song at any time, but always ending with her favorite song "Mona Lisa." She enjoyed pinochle, watching tennis, the Steelers, and the Pirates on TV, and reading and working word puzzles, keeping her mind sharp until the very end of her amazing life.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where the Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and a vigil will be held Thursday evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s by Father Leon Hont, OSB.
