MICKUS – Anthony J. Jr. “Skip,” 89, Sidman, died December 27, 2023. Born May 16, 1934, in South Fork, son of Anthony J. Sr. and Florence C. (Jenkins) Mickus. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Barbara Ann Younkins; and former wife, Shirley A. (Feeney) Mickus.
Survived by children, Diane (Carl Bopp); Daniel (Sheila Albertelli); Deborah Mickus; and Anthony F. (Cece McGregor); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Bopp and children, Bella, Bentley, and Bowen; Matthew (Lauren) Bopp and child, Cora; Gabrielle (Josh) Minor and children, Rowan and Dempsie; Danielle Mickus; Scott Alan (Leah Corson) Bolvin and children, Sadie and Sophia; Brandon Bolvin; Jamie (Brian) Gorzelsky and children, Toby, Chance, Marces, and Piper; Tony (Alayna Harshberger) Mickus and child, Brielle; Cody (Taylor) Mickus; and special friend of 15 years, Eileen Volchko.
Graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1953. US Army veteran, having served from 1957 to 1961. Skip was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel. He often visited Boyers and Ridgetop orchards to get fruit for his family members. He was a proud member of AA and in 42 years of recovery with multiple sponsees, including providing transportation to their AA recovery program. Pap Skip enjoyed picking cherries and mushrooms and fishing with his grandchildren. His famous quote was “Do life on life’s terms”.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 4th at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
