Ann M. Garanich

GARANICH – Ann M., 103, St. Michael, passed away November 2, 2020 in St. Michael. Born January 20, 1917, in St. Michael, daughter of George and Mary Martyak. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John Garanich Jr., who died October 16, 1979; son, Ronald J. and daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Mihalick) Garanich; brothers, George Blatz; John, Michael and Paul Martyak and their wives.

Survived by grandson, John Garanich; and granddaughter, Kathy, wife of John Yanez, Chandler, Arizona; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Luke, and Matthew; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Ann was actively involved in and a past president of both St. Michael American Legion Post 551 and St. Michael Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries and also served as a Fire Hall Delegate. She was a member of the former St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in South Fork. Ann thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines, attending pinochle card parties, going on trips to Atlantic City, and walking with friends.

Honoring Ann’s request, there will be no public visitation.

Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Portage, Reverend Father James Spontak, Celebrant.

Committal, Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Portage.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunlo.
