SILK– Alfred, 74, St.Michael, died March 22, 2016, at Rosewood Assisted Living Community, Richland. Born Oct. 13, 1941, in Windber, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Sachet) Silk. Survived by sister, Joan, wife of Edward Barron, Belle Vernon; nephew, Edward Barron Jr., Belle Vernon; and great-nephews, Edward III and Thomas James Barron. Alfred was a graduate of Adams Township High School, Class of 1959, and Clarion University, Class of 1963. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a retired guidance counselor from North Star Middle School. Upon retirement, he worked as a security guard at MetLife. Member of American Legion Post 551, St. Michael, and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 349, Windber. Honoring his wishes funeral services were private, by Father Joseph Nale.
