She married Everett Lee Boyd on March 13, 1951. Everett and Ada had two children, daughter, Martha “Marty” Ellen Boyd, Okatie, South Carolina; and son, Michael Jeffrey “Jeff” Boyd, Windber. After Everett's death in 1967, Ada married Ernest B. Hart of Johnstown in 1973.

Ada began her career as a public-school teacher in Herrin, Illinois and retired from her public school service from the Forest Hills School District in June of 1996, where she had been employed since September of 1967. While a teacher at the Forest Hills School District, Ada was actively involved as a member of FHEA/PSEA/NEA and Delta Kappa Gamma. Ada retired with 42 years of service, teaching hundreds of public-school children. Ada had a deep love for music, teaching, and the hills of Pennsylvania and Kentucky. She had a beautiful singing voice and served in the church choirs of Emmanuel Baptist Church (now Emmanuel Church) and the South Fork United Methodist Church (now South Fork First Evangelic Church). Ada enjoyed traveling, especially to her home state of Kentucky and to the beach, but she was happiest when her home was full of family and friends. She was the very definition of a generous and gracious hostess.
Family and friends will be received at the church from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service and celebration of Ada's life at 11 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2024, at South Fork First Evangelical Church, the Reverend Randy Landman, presiding.
