Joanne C. Single

SINGLE – Joanne C., 85, Beaverdale, died January 1, 2024. Born April 21, 1938, in Beaverdale, daughter of John F. and Anna (Eurcho) Chunta. Preceded in death by parents; husband, James E. Single, who died September 6, 1972; granddaughter, Stephanie Horten; and brothers, Bernard Chunta (Mary) and Fr. Roger Chunta, T.O.R.

Survived by daughters, Susan (Joseph Horten); Diane (Todd Montemorano); sons, Mark (Jeff Groton); and James (Alice Hill); grandchildren, Stephen Horten; Christopher Horten (Rebecca); Patrick Montemorano; Cristina Montemorano; Thomas Single (Jessica); and Kaitlyn Single (Tyler); and brother, John Chunta (Kathy).

Joanne was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael. She graduated from Beaverdale – Wilmore High School, class of 1955 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. Her career as a registered nurse was fulfilling both personally and professionally; and was a natural fit as she was known for her gentle spirit and giving heart. She was a loving and devoted mother and faithful friend. One who made it a point to always keep in touch.

Friends will be received at the church from 10:30 a.m. until celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Father Jerzy Auguscik, OFM Conv., celebrant.
